Camping meals are filled with family favorites like grilled burgers, potato salad, and S’mores. You’ve looked forward to your vacation and should be able to enjoy all the foods your family is asking for. You may find that the bowl of apples you have placed on the table has gone untouched, though, and there are some tricks you can use get the family to eat more fresh food at the campground.
You can make fruit parfaits for breakfast by layering berries and yogurt in cups. The kids think it’s fancy and it tastes good, too. We’ve seen a rise in blended smoothies for breakfast which is another opportunity to add fresh fruit and even spinach to your family’s meal.
Fresh cut fruit and veggies with dip are popular and can be purchased pre-cut if you don’t care to do it yourself. Grilled pineapple or peach halves are mouth wateringly good after dinner and a non-typical offering you can try.
You can even make berry cobblers wrapped in foil and cooked over the campfire by using premade crescent dough and fruit canned in water. Or wrap them up into individual pies. Everyone can have their favorite flavor. Adding in your daily fruits and vegetables will make everyone feel better and you’ll know they’re still getting a good balance of nutrients as they run and play all day. We’re looking forward to seeing you this summer so be sure to make your reservation. We can’t wait to see you having fun in the campground.
